Blake Caldarera

Blake was introduced to sustainable agriculture on a ranch in Perryville, Arkansas. Here, he volunteered with the nonprofit Heifer International and practiced the ins and outs of holistic farm management. Inspired by this work, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the North-Western Province of Zambia. During his two years in Zambia, he lived in a rural village, consulted fish farmers on pond management, and led community education initiatives.

Now at the University of Arizona, Blake is pursuing his Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He intends to build upon his experiences in sustainable development and incorporate cultural and ecological principles into a landscape design framework.

In his free time, Blake enjoys reading, gardening, drawing, backpacking, and playing sports.
