Iman Chatila

Iman grew up in Washington state. After getting a bachelors of psychology and working in outdoor education, she pursued her love for the outdoors by spending four years moving for seasonal jobs in trails and conservation. This is their third time moving to Tucson because of a deep fulfillment and appreciation for the Sonoran desert, the community, and rich culture of this region.

Iman has spent the last three years developing their gardening skills through community gardening. She realized she had a passion for agriculture and decided to do an Organic Farm Internship at Evergreen State College. Her experience has taught her about the importance of soil health, biodiversity, and local farming as a form of community and ecological resilience. She is excited to now be a Gardener at Mission Garden and preserve the agricultural heritage of this beautiful place.
