Isaac Silva

Born and raised in Tucson Arizona, Isaac is a first generation Mexican

whose family migrated from Huatabampo, Sonora in the early 90’s. Coming

from a Yoreme (Mayo) family Isaac grew up seeing the beautiful Pascola

traditions and famous Deer Dance most of his youth, but it wasn’t until

college that he was properly introduced to the wonders of the Sonoran

Desert where he fell deeply in love with the land.

Isaac graduated from the University of Arizona with a focus on Psychology

and minor in Philosophy but ultimately fell in love with education where he

found his career path was leading him. He has worked with the students of

the Tucson community for over a decade, six of those years were in

environmental education where he has successfully taken over 10,000

students into the Sonoran Desert wilderness helping them find a

connection and love of the land, through immersive, engaging, and fun

adventurous programs.

Isaac also loves to write in his journals and paint to better understand

himself and the world around him. He spends a couple weeks every

summer traveling to Guanajuato Mexico volunteering at “Resplandor”

children’s center teaching the youth healthy expression through poetry and

creative writing. He loves community bonding, when you see him around

it’s a guarantee you’ll get a smile, with a wave, and hello.
