Mission Garden tours cover the breadth of Tucson's history by visiting garden plots located throughout the garden that represent different time periods and different cultural traditions involved in Tucson's 4,000-year-plus history. The gardens contain wild foods and heritage trees and crops dating from all periods during this 4,000-year history. We also tell visitors about practical aspects of growing these heritage crops at Mission Garden, what we do with the produce, the origins and structure of our non-profit organization, and how you can get involved. After the tour visit our Exhibit Room and Garden Shop.
Looking for a family-friendly activity? Take a peek at our Garden Explorers and Bookworm Path for educational and fun hands-on activities paired with a desert-centric children’s book to deepen understanding and appreciation for the plants, animals and peoples of the Sonoran Desert.
